Snowmobile Trails Conditions: Closed in Burnett Co., Poor in Ashland Co.

Burnett County temporarily closed their snowmobile trails on Monday, February 14th with the hopes of protecting the snow base during the warmer weather this week. Depending on conditions, the county hopes to reopen them for the weekend.

The forecast calls for a chance of snow on Friday and colder temperatures for the weekend.

In addition to Burnett County, the Ashland County Snowmobile Alliance report that due to warm temperatures the past few days the trails throughout Ashland County have mixed conditions. County Trunk C North on 13 and 9 are in poor condition. There is mud and open water on the trail with a possibility of ice forming when the temperatures freeze, creating very slippery conditions. The remainder of the trails are in fair condition. Southern Ashland County and the Tri-County Corridor will be groomed on Thursday.

If you are planning a snowmobile trip, call ahead to your destination to get the latest condition report.
