Access, Signage for State Properties To Be Improved

Opportunities to explore and enjoy more than 200 publicly owned properties encompassing more than 500,000 acres in locations all across Wisconsin will be enhanced thanks to a $5 million investment in improvements over the next two years.

DSSO Woodwind Quartet to perform at Duluth Public Library

Travel with the "Hot Air Ensemble" as they explore music, cultures and traditions from around the world, in a special program at the Duluth Public Library on Tuesday, April 24 at 11:30 a.m. in the Green Room. Admission is free.

Free Electronics Recycling

As a part of their Earth Month activities, Lake Superior College is teaming up with 5R Processors, Ltd. of Ladysmith, WI to help Duluth-Superior and the surrounding communities properly dispose of their household electronics at no cost.

5R Processors will be set up in the Lake Superior College parking lot on Friday, April 27th from 10:00am to 3:00pm where they will be accepting any old or obsolete electronics equipment.

The collection is open to the general public.

5R Processors will be accepting most consumer electronics and home office equipment including: computers, monitors, laptops, printers, TVs, stereo equipment, cell phones, microwaves, large household appliances, and more.

Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers will be accepted for $25 per appliance.

Lotsa Pasta and Silent Auction

The Ukraine Mission Team of Bayside Baptist Church (corner of New York and Belknap, Superior) is hosting a Pasta Buffet and Silent Auction to raise funds for their upcoming trip to their sister church in Konotop, Ukraine.

The buffet will include a salad station, bread bar, pasta picks, sauce selections, and tasty treats for dessert, served in a special dining atmosphere.

Join us on Saturday, March 31 from 5-7pm for a very special evening. Tickets are $8 (13+), $5 (6-12), and 5 and under are free. For more info, or to make a donation for the silent auction, go to  www.baysidesuperior.org or call 715-394-6002.

Bayfront Park Skating Rink Closed for Season

Bayfront Park Skating Rink Closed for Season

The City of Duluth Bayfront Park skating rink is now closed for the season. According to Parks and Recreation, the rink will no longer be maintained or staffed.

The community can still come and skate at the Park and Recreation sponsored skating on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00 PM at the Heritage Sports Center located at 120 South 30th Avenue West. All sesssions are free and open to pleasure skating.

The Superior Figure Skating Club will be having its annual show on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 2:00p.m.

Reserved seats are $10.00, General Admission is Adults - $7.00, Children age 4-12 - $5.00, Children 3 and under are free!

Tickets are available at the door.
