Free Evening Entertainment at Maritime Visitor Center

The Lake Superior Marine Museum Association (LSMMA), in conjunction with Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center, has scheduled a free Evening Entertainment Series for May 17 at the Visitor Center’s lower level lecture hall, 600 South Lake Avenue in historic Canal Park in Duluth, MN. Admission is free Tony Dierckins will present "Lost Duluth."

Comedy Night for Mother's Day Weekend

Give mom a laugh for Mother's Day. Jason's Comedy Night is not your typical stand-up comedy show. Former KOOL 101.7 radio DJ Jason Jones brings pizza throwers, impressionists and even an accountant who pokes fun at his profession.

Jones is the master of ceremonies of the event.

"I bring entertaining people together and let them do what they do best," said Jones. "I'm glad to be back in Duluth and look forward to seeing familiar faces."

The comedy night will feature 5 acts, live music and dinner for $35.00. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and will be served at 6:00 p.m. with live music by Andrew Crowley. The show starts at 7:00 p.m.

UWS Students Earn Honors in Visual Arts

Several University of Wisconsin-Superior undergraduate and graduate art students took home honors May 3 in judging for the university's annual Senior Capstone and Juried Art Exhibit.

DSSO Woodwind Quartet to perform at Duluth Public Library

Travel with the "Hot Air Ensemble" as they explore music, cultures and traditions from around the world, in a special program at the Duluth Public Library on Tuesday, April 24 at 11:30 a.m. in the Green Room. Admission is free.

Sh-Boom Concert Coming Up

Sh-Boom is coming to the Sacred Heart Music Center in Duluth, to raise money for the Circle of Hope.

The concert is Friday, April 20th, from 7-10pm.

The Duluth Art Institute has taken the lead in organizing a twin ports wide gallery progressive on April 19th as part of the earth day art hop weekend.

On April 19 from 5 to 7 the Duluth Art Institute will kick-off a party that includes two cities and over 17 galleries.

The Duluth Art Institute will open three shows that evening: Brian Barber, Art Illustrated featuring the work of children's book illustrators Nikki Johnson, April Berg, Rick Allen, Wednesday Kirwin, and Besty Bowen, and the much anticipated Homegrown Music Festival - Visual Arts Edition.

The kick-off party will feature music by KUMD, food by Lake Avenue Cafe and beer by Dubrue.

Wisconsin Public Radio will add an arts program produced by the Canadian Broadcast Corporation after longtime host Jean Feraca retires at the end of March.
