MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Republican leaders are staying silent on whether they will support a new mining proposal its bipartisan backers say represents a compromise that can pass the Legislature.

Lake Superior Family Fun-Fest

The Lake Superior Family Fun-Fest is coming to the DECC on Saturday, February 25 and Sunday, February 26. Fun-Fest Expo Hours are 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday and 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday. The carnival will remain open one hour after the Expo ends.

Admission is $6 per person (children 2 and under free with paid adult). $1 off coupons are available at www.lundeenproductions.com/funfest and at participating businesses.  Carnival Rides are additional. $15 for unlimited ride wristbands and $1 each for single tickets (most rides require 2 to 3 tickets).

Tickets on Sale for the Fairy Princess Ball

The 3rd Annual Fairy Princess Ball will be held on Sunday, February 26th from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at the Greysolon Ballroom in Duluth. Tickets are on sale now with all the proceeds being donated to the Erick Peter Person Children’s Cancer Center in Duluth.

The $110 ticket price offers women and their little princess a grand afternoon of fun in the spirit of philanthropy. This year’s event will include: a grand princess march, professional photographs, food fit for a princess, dancing, a performance by the Minnesota Ballet, craft stations and many more surprises.

According to a press release, the Fairy Princess Ball has raised $22,000 for the Erick Peter Person Children’s Cancer Center Fund. The local fund helps defray costs for families of children receiving cancer treatment here in Duluth.

Every girl dreams of being a princess and the Fairy Princess Ball promises to fulfill her dreams all while teaching her the power of philanthropy.
